What is MACURC?

MACURC (pronounced “muh-kerk”) is short for the Mt. Adams Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation - a community-led nonprofit dedicated to building a vibrant future while preserving the historic character of Cincinnati’s Mt. Adams neighborhood.

Mission

The Mt. Adams Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (CURC) is a nonprofit neighborhood organization working to keep Mt. Adams vibrant, welcoming, and true to its historic character.Our mission is simple:Preserve what makes Mt. Adams special — its history, architecture, and charm.Invest in the future of the neighborhood by supporting housing, local businesses, and community spaces.Bring people together to make sure Mt. Adams remains a great place to live, work, and visit.Unlike a private developer, MACURC isn’t here to make a profit. Instead, every project we take on — whether it’s restoring a building, improving a public space, or helping a small business get started — is done with one goal in mind: strengthening our community for the long run.We work closely with residents, business owners, private developers, and the City of Cincinnati to make thoughtful improvements that balance preservation and progress.
